About the Club
Harrogate Lau Gar Club has been going since the 1980's. Our Senior Instructor (Stuart Agars) has been training for over 24 years and is a Teacher & Guardian of Lau Gar Kung Fu and runs www.trainingcircle.co.uk and the National Centre for Combat Martial Arts (NCCMA). Our other main Instructors; Nathan Beer 4th Degree Black sash, Carl Syres 3rd Degree, Mike Rowntree 1st Degree and Jon Gill 1st Degree Kickboxing, each take classes weekly along with other experienced black sashes at the club and special guest teachers. The Club is a member of the British Kung Fu Association - the UK's largest Chinese Martial Arts Association. If you are considering taking up a Martial Art and Lau Gar Kung Fu appeals then come along and watch! - There are no obligations to join and the first lesson is FREE! Most people feel a little unsure when visiting a class for the first time. This is only natural; this initial meeting is the hardest thing that you will do! You will soon get into the training. You will discover our friendly and informative atmosphere and relaxed nature. You will be encouraged to participate in the class and this will enable you to ask as many questions as you need, with the Instructor taking time to answer all questions. For full class timetable see the panel (top right on the home page) or visit: www.nccma.co.uk/timetable.htm Training can either be via PAYG (pay for each class on the day) or you may prefer to become a member. Membership offers a saving on class costs as well as a free uniform, reduced grading costs and other discounts. How much will it cost me to train? We prefer to arrange a monthly Direct Debit for classes which offers savings over paying weekly and allows you to come to other weekly as well as discounts for special guest teachers. How many times a week can I train? Is there an additional cost for each of my gradings? Do I need a insurance? What do I need to wear when I first start? Am I too old / young to join a Martial Art School? We look forward to seeing you soon! |
